Dear Friends,

...... Ad circumvagari Adriatica et Aegeana; ad admirato antiquus culturus Romanus; ad patire honestus societas, amicae et alumni….

Okay, my Latin needs some serious help, but there can be no doubt that our cruise of the Roman Empire round-trip from Rome through the Adriatic and Aegean seas we will be spectacular.  We depart DFW on May 16th and spend two days in Rome before we embark south to Heraculum, then south through the Straits of Messina and ten days cruising the azure blue Adriatic to the walled-city of Dubrovnic, south to Corfu, along and around the Peloponnesian peninsula to Katakolon, then across to Kusadasi, Ephesus, Santorini, the island of Malta returning to the Eternal City slightly tanned and thoroughly thrilled.

No prior course in Latin is requiredThere will be no tests.

There will be glorious sun kissed days at sea, exciting excursions to ancient and lost cities, and views of the Santorini caldera.    Every night you will enjoy a five star dinner, then after dinner the shows and entertainment.  Marie and I hope you will join us even a little later for dancing (She made me take lessons!).  But when you depart for the moonlit stroll on the observation deck…you’re on your own!

Let me also encourage you to consider inviting family members to join you.  This cruise is great for your children and grandchildren, too. Holland America offers great programs for the younger children and teenagers, if by chance they get tired of being with you.  What better way can there be to learn a little about this part of the world and its history than by taking a companion, a friend, and spouse, or maybe your children or grand-children, with you.

As in Spain last year, Gina promises not to dance the Flamenco, but she will not be denied some Zorba-like “Oupah!” when we get to Santorini.

Marie and I would be delighted to share some time with you cruising the Mediterranean and Aegean…Why don’t you come along and admirato antiquus cultuus Romanus!!!

Cordially,

Hal and Marie Jeffcoat
