Mission

The School of Arts and Sciences integrates the liberal arts, the visual and performing arts, the social sciences, and the physical sciences with professional and career preparation at the undergraduate level and in selected graduate areas. The Pre-Professional Program offers
encouragement and support for students studying for graduate and
professional school. The School of Arts and Sciences includes the
departments of Art, Biology, Chemistry, Languages and Literature, Math/ Computer Science/Physics/Geology/, Music, Psychology and Counseling, Humanities/ Religion/Philosophy, Social Science, and Theatre.

Through a wide variety of general education and major courses the School of Arts and Sciences creates a learning environment where the student is provided an opportunity to pursue individual excellence, to think clearly and creatively, and to communicate effectively. The Arts and Sciences faculty is dedicated to the development of each student to her or his full potential as an individual and a member of the world community.
