HUNT'S THREE LIFTS RAMS TO TITLE

March 21 , 2006

KANSAS CITY, MO:  With 6.8 seconds on the clock, Oklahoma City’s Rory Green went to the line for a one-and-one.  Green hit the first, giving OCU a 65-64 lead.  His second shot missed, and Ben Hunt grabbed the rebound, dribbled the length of the court, and hit a fall-away three with 0.2 seconds on the clock to lift Texas Wesleyan to its first ever National Championship.

RAMS ARE LIVING THE DREAM

KANSAS CITY, MO:  When Texas Wesleyan received its at-large bid for the 69th Annual Buffalo Funds NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball tournament, head coach Terry Waldrop said, “this is every little boy’s dream growing up playing basketball to play for a national championship.”  The Rams are living that dream, making one of the most incredible runs in tournament history.  Tonight, they will play in the NAIA National Championship game, which will be broadcast live on CSTV (DirecTV channel 610, check your local listings).

RAMS ARE GOING TO THE TITLE GAME!

KANSAS CITY, MO:  Tuesday night, The Texas Wesleyan University men’s basketball team will put it all on the line in the NAIA Division I National Championship game.  The Rams took yet another stunning victory on Monday, when they knocked off #8 Oklahoma Baptist University 83-72 at Memorial Auditorium.  They advance to tomorrow’s title game, which will be broadcast live nationally on CSTV (check you local listings, and call your cable provider about availability).

RAMS vs. OBU

KANSAS CITY, MO:  At 8:00 p.m. on Monday, the Texas Wesleyan University men’s basketball team will play in its first NAIA Fab Four in the 68-year history of the program.  The school has made eight tournament appearances, reaching the Elite Eight in 1940 and 1941, but they had not made the field since 1983.

KANSAS CITY, MO:  The Texas Wesleyan University men’s basketball team pulled off a thrilling 73-70 win over #4 Carroll College in Elite Eight action at the 69th annual Buffalo Funds NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship on Saturday.

RAMS ADVANCE TO ELITE EIGHT

March 17 , 2006

KANSAS CITY, MO:  Entering today’s game, the Oklahoma Christian University men’s basketball team had taken seven consecutive victories over Texas Wesleyan including a pair of wins this season.  The Rams last win over the Eagles came in 1996, three years before the hiring of head coach Terry Waldrop, but none of that mattered today.  Texas Wesleyan finally broke through in the biggest match up the schools have ever had.  The Rams gave a gritty performance and came out with a 67-62 win.

RAMS TAKE FIRST STEP

KANSAS CITY, MO:  The Texas Wesleyan University men’s basketball team took the court at Municipal Auditorium this afternoon with its season on the line against 5th ranked Union University in the 69th Annual Buffalo Funds NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.  Rams fans were not disappointed as Texas Wesleyan was hitting on all cylinders, controlling the game throughout on their way to an 82-64 opening round win.

RAMS READY FOR UNION

KANSAS CITY, MO:  The Texas Wesleyan University basketball team will have one more practice on Wednesday, before they take on 5th seeded Union University in the 69th Annual Buffalo Funds NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.  The Rams will meet the Bulldogs at 12:30 p.m. in Municipal Auditorium in downtown Kansas City.

RAMS ARE K.C. BOUND

March 8 , 2006

FORT WORTH, TX:  It’s official, the Texas Wesleyan University men’s basketball team has earned an invitation to next week’s NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City.  The Rams will make their eighth appearance in the tournament after receiving an at large berth based on the merit of an outstanding season.  They will play 5th seeded Union University at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday in Kansas City, MO.
