WORTH, Texas Terry Waldrop, Athletic Director at Texas
Wesleyan University has announced that Logan Lawrence, a former
staff assistant at Troy State University, has been named Sports
Information Director.
"We had quite a bit of interest
and some very qualified candidates, however both the committee and
I felt that Logan had such a diverse background and the qualities
we were looking for," Waldrop said. "Logan is definitely
the best fit for us."
Lawrence had been with Troy State since August
of 2001 as staff assistant for the16-sport Division I program. In
addition to being the primary contact for the Trojan baseball
program, he was in charge of a student assistant staff of eight
and also handled duties for Troy State's women's soccer and men's
and women's tennis teams.
A native of Desoto, Texas, Lawrence received
his undergraduate degree in journalism from Texas A&M in 2001.
He also received his master's degree in athletic administration
from Troy State in 2003.
"I am absolutely thrilled to be
joining the entire staff at Texas Wesleyan," Lawrence said. "In
addition to be being back home in the metroplex, I'm also excited
to be a part of a university athletics department that has had a
continued success throughout the years."
Lawrence also attended Collin County Community
College in Plano, Texas, where he was a two-year starter for the
Express baseball team from 1997-98.
He is married to the former Bridget Dyer of
Victoria, Texas. |
