OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Oklahoma
Christian's Lindsey Motley's two second-half goals led the Lady
Eagles past Texas Wesleyan, 4-2, Thursday evening.
Oklahoma Christian (5-5-3) opened the scoring
in the ninth minute when Kristin Walker blasted a shot from 25 yards
out to put the Lady Eagles up, 1-0.
Texas Wesleyan (8-7) fought back with two
goals from sophomore Jessica Carrion in the 25th and 40th minute
to take the lead at 2-1. Carrion now has 22 goals on the season.
She is only three goals behind the school record she sat last season,
with 25. Junior Jessica Elder and freshman Melody Overland picked
up the assists on both plays.
The Lady Eagles weren't to be outdone as
Motley picked up both her goals in the second half coming in the
85th and 86th minute to seal the victory, 4-2.
"Jessica (Carrion) had a great game
today," head coach Steve Jones said. "She continues to
perform day in and day out. We just let this one slip away."
Texas Wesleyan returns to action Saturday
when they host Manhattan Christian College at 2 p.m.
