     CEDAR HILL, Texas -
Texas Wesleyan had no answer for College of the Southwest's offensive attack, as the Mustangs banged out 20 hits on its way to a 22-5 victory Friday afternoon in the Red River Conference Tournament, knocking the Rams out of the tournament.

College of the Southwest jumped out early, scoring three runs in the first inning and one run in the third inning. The fifth inning proved to be the decisive one, as the Mustangs scored eight runs to take a commanding 12-1 lead. In that inning, College of the Southwest collected eight hits, which included three back-to-back home runs.

The Mustangs put five more runs on the board in the next two innings, before Texas Wesleyan finally got something going in the bottom of the seventh, scoring an unearned run, an RBI-single from first baseman Drew Jeffcoat and a 2-RBI single from catcher Nathan Brandt.

Sophomore Shea Harrison (4-4) suffered the loss for the Rams, allowing five runs on eight hits, while walking one and striking out four batters in four innings of work.

Collecting the hits for Texas Wesleyan was centerfielder Mark Smajstrla, shortstop Corey Stansell, Brandt and Jeffcoat.

With the loss, Texas Wesleyan ends its season with an overall record of 26-29.
