Box Score - Game Two

FORT WORTH, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University baseball team (9-2) completed a three-game sweep of Wayland Baptist University (5-6) by taking both ends of a doubleheader at LaGrave Field on Monday.  The Rams took game one 3-0 and game two 11-4.

In game one, Ryan Riddle (1-0), tossed a complete-game three-hit shutout.  The junior southpaw allowed struck out five in seven innings.

Taylor Miller gave the Rams a 1-0 lead when his second home run of the year just cleared the right field wall.  The Rams took advantage of a Wayland Baptist miscue to get two more runs in the sixth.

In game two, the Rams struck for four runs in the first inning.  Jason Diaz drew a leadoff walk, and Brandon Frazier was hit by a pitch.  Josh Vander Hey then drove a two-run double into the right-center gap.  Vander Hey later scored on a ground ball from Antoine Cole.

Wayland Baptist got on the board with a home run from Jonathan Reynoso in the second and another from Eric Brown in the third.

In the bottom of the third, Texas Wesleyan scored with an RBI double from Miller and an RBI single from Diaz.  The Rams then added two in the fifth and three in the sixth, including a two-run double from Antoine Cole before surrendering two in the seventh.

Jayson Rachuig (1-1) earned the win with two scoreless innings of relief.

The Rams will return to action on Saturday, when they host Southwestern University.  Game one of that doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
