FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University head women’s soccer coach Josh Gibbs announced today the signing of Lateah Lucero.
Lucero, a forward from Pilot Point, TX, comes to Texas Wesleyan from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where she played her freshman season in 2007. As a freshman, Lucero racked up seven points on two goals and three assists.
Gibbs was excited about the addition to his team saying, “She is going to instantly improve our team from an attacking stand point. We are very excited to have a such a dynamic and dangerous player up top. We expect her to make an impact in our conference immediately.”
Lucero will also play softball this spring for head coach Shannon Gower.
The Lady Rams who have won two of the last three Red River Athletic Conference championships, finished at 8-7-3 this season. They featured six All-Conference players including three seniors.
