LADY RAMS SIGN MILLICAN

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University’s head volleyball coach Christy Clawson announced today the signing of Emily Millican.  Millican is a left-handed defensive specialist/libero from Red Oak High School in Dallas, TX.

Millican played with current Lady Rams Brittany Person for coach Arthur Stanfield at Red Oak.  She also played for coach Michael Denardo at Texas Advantage.  She was a 1st-team All-District selection in 2006 and 2007 at ROHS.

“Emily is a very versatile player with a great work ethic and personal drive,” Clawson commented.  “She is a defensive splecialist/liber, but she can set and hit the ball as well.  She will be a great addition to our program and the University.”

Millican is the daughter of James and Betsy Millican and is planning to major in nursing.

The Rams had an excellent 2007 season in their second year under Clawson’s guidance.  Texas Wesleyan posted a 32-16 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in RRAC play.  They reached the RRAC final for the fifth time in six years and also advanced to the Region VI championship game.
