Box Score - Game One Box Score - Game Two FARMERS BRANCH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (5-16) lost both ends of a doubleheader against NCAA Division I Houston Baptist University (17-5). The Lady Huskies took game one 7-1, and game two 9-0.
After the Rams allowed three runs in the third inning, Ariel Raley got Texas Wesleyan on the board with an RBI single in the fourth. HBU went on to add a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh.
Ashley Oldham (2-6) took the loss after allowing six runs, five earned, on ten hits while striking out two in 6.1 innings of work.
Raley and Taylor Wood both went 2-for-3 in the loss.
In game two the Huskies jumped out to a 5-0 lead in second inning. They added four more in the fourth while shutting the Rams out and ending the game in five innings.
HBU go to Cami Riley (0-1) for five runs, four earned, in 1.2 innings of work.
Raley added another 2-for-3 performance at the plate while Tara Martinez was 2-for-2.
Texas Wesleyan will host Bacone College on Friday. That Red River Athletic Conference doubleheader is scheduled to get underway at 1:00 p.m. at Sycamore Park. |
