RAMS SIGN PIERCE

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University head men’s soccer coach Josh Gibbs announced today the signing of Adam Pierce, a midfielder out of Red Oak High School.

Pierce was a four-time All-District selection and two time District MVP at ROHS.  He led the team in goals as a junior.  In his senior year he was named team captain and led the squad in goals and assists.

Pierce has also played in the Dallas Classic League Division I club soccer with coach Sal Adame’s Dallas Texans for three seasons.

Coach Gibbs was excited to add a player of Pierces level.  “He is tough in a tackle, does a great job of distributing the ball, and has unbelievable vision for a player of his age.  I believe that he will start right away and be a great compliment in the midfield with Chase Richeson, Jamie Saenz, Adis Druzanovic, and another recent signing, Rafael Franco.  We are very excited to have Adam join the Wesleyan Soccer Family.”

Texas Wesleyan had a solid 2007 season making their second Region VI Tournament appearance in the last three years.  At 4-2-1 in conference play, they earned the second seed in the RRAC Tournament, where they defeated defending champion Huston-Tillotson in penalty kicks before falling in a shootout to UT-Brownsville in the RRAC title match.
