The Study of Biology The Ed and Ray Schollmaier Science and Technology Center Welcome! Biology The Wesleyan Biology Program consists of three tiers of study: a freshman and sophomore core in the biology of cells, organisms and populations, a selection of advanced electives, and a two-semester research project completed by all majors. The major is focused on the development of skills and an information base to prepare graduates to work in biotechnology, teach in public or private schools, or enter graduate programs in medicine or in other areas of advanced study. The $2.2 Million Schollmaier Science and Technology center is a new 7,000 square-foot facility housing six SMART classrooms, four faculty offices, two multimedia seminar rooms, and a student lounge. The center will support a variety of science and programs, benefiting all Wesleyan students. More specifically it will allow the science departments to enhance curriculum with bioinformatics technology. Combined with the Ella C. McFadden Science Building, they both house cutting edge science and technology for the new millennium. Please note that the Biology Faculty are now located in the Schollmaier Science and Technology Center.
