What will my ballot look like?
Sample ballots: Republican, Democrat
How do I know if I'm a registered Democrat or Republican?
This isn't a trick question, but the answer in Texas is neither. If you are registered to vote, you are simply a registered voter. Voters do not register by party here. (FWST)
Can I vote in either primary?
Yes. But if you vote in the Democratic primary, you can't cross over and vote in the Republican runoffs. (FWST) More from the Secretary of State's website.
I can't find my voter registration card. Can I still vote?
Yes. As long as you are registered to vote, you can vote without your certificate as long as you have a valid identification documentation, such as a driver's license, photo ID, U.S. passport or birth certificate. (FWST)
I've been hearing that Texas has a primary AND a caucus. I've lived here all my life, but never heard anything about this. Please explain.
The Democrats apportion their delegates to the National Convention with a combined primary and caucus system; the Republicans apportion their delegates based on primary results only. Click here to read a (not-too-long, non-partisan) report by the Texas House Research Organization for a comprehensive look at the process.
I still have more questions. Who should I contact?
