How do I know if I'm a registered Democrat or Republican? |
This isn't a trick question, but the answer in Texas is neither. If you are registered to vote, you are simply a registered voter. Voters do not register by party here. (FWST) |
Can I vote in either primary? |
Yes. But if you vote in the Democratic primary, you can't cross over and vote in the Republican runoffs. (FWST) More from the Secretary of State's website. |
I can't find my voter registration card. Can I still vote? |
Yes. As long as you are registered to vote, you can vote without your certificate as long as you have a valid identification documentation, such as a driver's license, photo ID, U.S. passport or birth certificate. (FWST) |
I've been hearing that Texas has a primary AND a caucus. I've lived here all my life, but never heard anything about this. Please explain. |
The Democrats apportion their delegates to the National Convention with a combined primary and caucus system; the Republicans apportion their delegates based on primary results only.
