Charles Little Named Assistant to the Dean, Interim Director of Graduate & Professional Programs
photo of Charles LittleCharles Little, assistant professor of management, will serve as both assistant to the dean for community relations and as interim director of graduate and professional business programs, effective June 1. In his administrative positions, Little will continue to promote our undergraduate and graduate programs and develop relationships with local community colleges as part of our internal recruiting efforts. He will also work with local businesses and public entities to increase our school’s visibility within the community and to develop internship and permanent job placement opportunities. This fall, Little will also serve as a full-time member of the management faculty and will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses.

Sameer Vaidya Named Interim Associate Dean
photo of Sameer VaidyaSameer Vaidya, associate professor of management, will serve as interim associate dean for the School of Business Administration and Professional Programs, effective June 1. Beginning this fall, Vaidya will serve as a half-time faculty member and will continue teaching both graduate and undergraduate management courses in addition to his new administrative responsibilities.

Vice President of the Alumni Board of Directors Wins Award
Wesleyan flame logoNancy Amos (BBA '77), vice president of the Alumni Board of Directors, was named Woman of the Year by the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) at the 2006 Awards Banquet March 30. The WTS is a professional association encompasses all lines of transportation (engineers, planners, managers, highways, transit, aviation). Another Wesleyan alumna, Karen Burchfield (BA '84) with Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railway, was the featured speaker at the Awards Banquet. Amos is senior vice president for the Fort Worth Transportation Authority.

Regional Recruiter for Burleson Site Hired

photo of Tony NarvaezAntonio (Tony) Narvaez began work as a regional recruiter for the Burleson site on Monday, June 19. Tony brings a wealth of knowledge to the admission team; he not only has a heart for students, he also has an extensive background in secondary education, including service as a principal, assistant principal, counselor, and teacher. After spending this week at the main campus, Narvaez will work primarily out of the Texas Wesleyan in Burleson site.

Texas Wesleyan Alumni and Faculty in the News

newspaper Texas Wesleyan alumni Monika Cooper (JD '97) and J. Cort DeHart (JD '94) and adjunct professor David Drez are listed in the June 5-11 edition of the Fort Worth Business Press as three of the 2006 Forty Under Forty honorees. Cooper is a commercial litigation lawyer with ShannonGracey. She was also named a "Rising Star in Texas" by Texas Monthly in 2004 and 2005. J. Cort DeHart is a commercial contracts lawyer with DeHart Crockett, a law firm he founded with Craig M. Crockett in 1997. David Drez is an an adjunct professor of construction law at Texas Wesleyan School of Law and is a litigation associate at Haynes and Boone LLP. The annual list of Forty under Forty recognizes forty of the biggest rising stars in the world of Fort Worth business. Daphne Brookins, president-elect of the Alumni Board of Directors, and Brett Thomas, assistant coach for Texas Wesleyan's baseball team, were also honored.
