Questions About Placement Testing

What test does Texas Wesleyan use?
Texas Wesleyan uses Accuplacer for placement testing.

What are Placement Tests?
The Accuplacer is a computer-based test that is administered to students to measure the student’s skill in math, English, and reading. The score on the Accuplacer placement test ensures that the student is “placed” in the course which is most appropriate to his/her needs and readiness to succeed in college-level courses.

When can I take the Placement Tests? How long do the tests take?
The Placement Tests may be taken anytime prior to registration. Designated testing days and times are available the week before orientations and registrations, or students may take their tests by appointment. Students should allow 1 to 2 hours per test

How long does it take to get the results?
Each test is computer scored – results are immediate.

If I don’t do well on a test, may I retake it?
Yes, you may retake any part of the Accuplacer but there will be a $5 fee for each part you retake.

Understanding Your Accuplacer Scores
