Academic Interest:

Dr. Karen Hodges came to Wesleyan in 1994 to teach in the new Weekend University.  Her research and teaching interests are in American Literature, especially the early period through the 19th century and contemporary literatures of the Southwest.  Rhetoric and Composition studies weave through each day.

Dr. Hodges serves on the Academic Affairs committee, the Retention committee, and Weekend University committee.  She serves as advisor to the Liberal Studies Program.  In addition, she is the past president of Texas College English Association.

ENG 1302 Composition and Literature (online and in the classroom)

Personal Interest:
Dr. Hodges’s primary personal interests are her husband Gerald, three children Steven, Ann, and Mary—their spouses and children.  She co-chairs the prayer ministry at Whites Chapel United Methodist in Southlake, TX.  She also enjoys writing, walking, gardening, and connecting with friends and family
