Presenters information

              We will be holding our twentieth annual Expanding Your Horizons in Science and Mathematics conference on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Texas Wesleyan University.  The purpose of this conference is to increase young women’s interest in math and science, and to provide them with information on math and science related careers.  We provide students with the opportunity to meet professional women working in math and science related occupations.  We expect over 325 young women in grades seven and eight to attend.

              We would like to ask you to be a workshop presenter.  As a presenter, you will share information about you and your profession and conduct a short hands-on activity.  We would like you to present your workshop in at least two 45-minute sessions to approximately 16-18 young women per session.  If you need help in planning a hands-on activity, we can offer assistance.  Our web site is below.   You can see the registration brochure for March 29 and the program from last year (March 2007).  The program has a list of the workshops and presenters from 2007.  Attached is Presenters’ Workshop Form.  Please return your completed presenter form to confirm your participation in this conference.  Also attached is list of categories from which the students will pick their workshops. Please indicate the one that best fits your workshop.  The final workshop title need not be submitted at this time. If you have trouble deciding on a workshop activity, please jot down your ideas at this time.
