Is there financial aid for international students?

There is no government financial aid for international students and only a few scholarships for international students. There are some scholarships most new students are eligible for. These range from $2000 to $7000 per year and are applied to tuition and fees.  See the section on Scholarships for more information.

Do I have to take the TOEFL?

No.  You may take the IELTS or be exempt by other means.  See the English proficiency requirements listed under Official Evidence of English Proficiency in the Admission Requirements page.

Can I send a resume with my application?

Although you may submit a resume, you should not complete any section by referring the Admissions officer to an enclosed resume or other portions of the application. You must complete all sections of the application form.

What happens if I don't receive my visa in time?

We will defer your admission for the following semester and issue you a new I-20 after we receive your first initial I-20 back.

Where do international students usually live?

Most international students prefer to live on campus in student housing.  They find it is convenient and safe. It also offers more opportunities to interact with American students.  Some students live off campus with family or friends. How many international students are there on campus?

There are generally 40-60 international students on campus.  They come from almost as many different countries.  This makes the international community exciting and supportive. 

When does school begin?

Spring 2008 semester classes begin January 16, 2008; however, international students should arrive on January  10 to participate in the New International Student Orientation and register January 14-15.
