The Study of Journalism

Required Mass Communication Core courses are:

  • MCO 1301 Introduction to Mass Communication --3 hours
  • MCO 1303 Writing for the Mass Media -- 3 hours
  • MCO 4301 Communication Laws and Ethics -- 3 hours
  • MIS 2303 Introduction to Software -- 3 hours

Required Journalism courses are:

  • MCO 2316 News Reporting -- 3 hours
  • MCO 3306 Broadcast Journalism -- 3 hours
  • MCO 3316 Feature Writing -- 3 hours
  • MCO 3321 News Edition -- 3hours

Electives are:

  • 12 hours of any additional Mass Communication courses
  • 6 hours of Management or Marketing courses

A minimum of 18 Mass Communication hours must be taken at Texas Wesleyan University.

 

 

Resendez Takes Helm as Spring Editor-in-Chief

Jonathan Resendez, a junior journalism major, will become Editor-in-Chief of the Texas Wesleyan student newspaper, The Rambler, in Spring 2010. Resendez currently serves as The Rambler's News Editor.
