Graduation
TexPREP 2007 Graduation Ceremony was held Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. in the Fine Arts Building - Martin Hall.
Ceremony began with Dr. Moore, TexPREP Director's Welcome, the National Anthem was sung while Wesley Beckner played the piano and De'Onna Jennings and Hillary Gibbons played the flaute. The Prep IV group led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and that's how Graduation began.
Dr. Miriam Espinosa, Dean of School of Science and Humanities, gave a welcome from Texas Wesleyan University short speech to our students, parents, guests, and staff. Right after this some of the students had the opportunity to present to the audience what they worked on throughout the summer. Mrs. Curry's class presented the Future City Project which was very interesting to see, Mr. Phelps Prep II students showed some of their web pages and some of the TexPREP Website, finaly Mr. Barrow's Prep III & IV students showed pictures of the robots and roller coasters that they had built, the original projects were not shown since they would probably get distroyedif they were moved .
Now, what the students anxiously waited for, Academic Awards were presented to those most outstanding students, overall everyone did a great job. Certificates of Completition and t-shirts were presented next and everyone celebrated their victory! Belinda Lopez and the PA's were recognized for the TexPREP Yearbook that was produced throughout the course of the summer and of which every graduating student was awarded.
Everyone was congratulated and as we were dismissed, one more triumphant year of TexPREP was completed!
