Wesleyan Encore is an Alumni theatre organization founded in 2002. As a club, we network, socialize, promote Wesleyan in the community, provide aid and support to the Wesleyan’s Theatre Department and strive to award a yearly scholarship to a Wesleyan Theatre student.
To qualify for membership, you must be 21 years of age and not currently a student at Wesleyan. You must have participated in a Wesleyan Theatre Production in some capacity. You may have been a cast member, crew member or house staff member. Dues are $20 per person or $30 for a couple per year.
As a member, you will receive at least four newsletters per year, be eligible to attend two annual parties, and take part in many other planned activities throughout the year.
Encore is a truly rewarding organization. We have lots of fun and fellowship. If you qualify for membership, we urge you to join us and become part of this great group of people who love "the smell of the greasepaint and the roar of the crowd".
Theatre Alumnus MIKE SKIPPER wins Tony Award for Best Musical

In the Heights, a production of alumnus Michael Skipper, BA '78, received the Tony Award for Best Musical. The production was no08 Tony Awards, including Best Director. The thirteen nominations are the most for any one production. "I'm just jumpin' for joy," Skipper told The Fort Worth Business Press.
In the Heights played at Skipper's 37 ARTS before moving to the Richard Rogers Theatre at W. 46th St. While the musical was at 37 ARTS in the spring of 2007, many of Texas Wesleyan's theatre students and alumni were able to see the show during the Playmarket trip to New York City in May 2007.
Skipper and his wife Anne Street Skipper, chairman of the Texas Wesleyan Board of Trustees, live in Graham and New York City.
